Zehnder mechanical ventilation

Zehnder mechanical ventilation units

Zehnder offers various ventilation systems for homes, from mechanical ventilation units to central and decentralised HRVs. Does your Zehnder ventilation unit make noise, is the motor humming, or has the extraction decreased? In many cases, overhauling or repairing the motor is a sustainable solution.

Mechanical ventilation units

  • Zehnder ComfoFan Silent: quiet and energy-efficient mechanical ventilation unit.
  • Zehnder ComfoFan S: older model, often recognisable by the red cover. This has been succeeded by the Zehnder Silent, recognisable by its grey cover.
  • Zehnder ComfoFan Silent Limited: compact variant with lower maximum capacity.

Central HRVs

  • ComfoAir Q-series: Q350, Q450 and Q600.
  • ComfoAir E-series: E300 and E400.
  • ComfoAir Flex: Flex 250 and Flex 350.
  • ComfoAir Standard: Standard 300 and Standard 375, formerly WHR 930/950.

Decentralised HRVs

For ventilation with heat recovery in one specific room, Zehnder also offers decentralised systems. Examples include the Zehnder ComfoAir 70, a facade unit for larger rooms, and the Zehnder ComfoSpot 50, a compact HRV unit that is fully integrated into the exterior wall.

Common problems

Common malfunctions with Zehnder ventilation systems include noise, humming, vibrations, poor extraction, heavy-running motors, and worn bearings. In many cases, the complete unit does not need to be replaced, as an overhaul or repair of the motor may suffice.

Don't know which Zehnder model you have?

Overhaul or replace?

Replacement is not always necessary. For many Zehnder ventilation motors, an overhaul can extend their lifespan. This is often more cost-effective, sustainable, and practical than installing a completely new unit.
