Vasco malfunction
Vasco ventilation unit not extracting properly
Is your Vasco ventilation unit or HRV unit not extracting properly? Does moisture linger, do odours disappear less quickly, or do you notice little air displacement? The cause could be contamination, wear and tear, a motor problem or a malfunction in the control system.
- Little air displacement
- Moisture lingers
- Motor overhaul possible
What do you notice?
- Little extraction in the bathroom, kitchen, or toilet.
- Condensation persists longer.
- Odours disappear less quickly.
- The ventilation unit is running but provides little air displacement.
Possible causes
- Contaminated valves or ventilation ducts.
- Worn motor or bearings.
- Problem with the switch or control system.
- Contaminated fan or impeller.
What can you check yourself?
Check if the valves are clean and if the ventilation unit responds when you select a different ventilation setting. Also check if the filters (for HRV units) are clean. If the extraction remains insufficient, the cause may lie with the motor or fan.

Start the troubleshooterWhen is an overhaul necessary?
If the ventilation unit has been thoroughly cleaned but the extraction remains insufficient, wear and tear on the motor or bearings may be the cause. In many cases, an overhaul is then a cost-effective alternative to replacement.
