Worn Vasco bearings
Worn bearings are a common cause of noise, vibrations, and a heavily running motor in Vasco ventilation units and HRVs. By intervening in time, further damage to the motor can often be prevented.

Symptoms of worn bearings
- Grinding, humming, or squealing noise.
- A humming sound that gets progressively louder.
- Motor runs heavily or erratically.
- Vibrations in the ventilation unit.
- Reduced ventilation performance.
How do bearing problems arise?
- Normal wear and tear from years of use.
- Dirt or dust around moving parts.
- Moisture or contamination in the unit.
- Imbalance of fan or motor.
- Prolonged motor load.
When do bearings need replacement?
A bearing that is starting to wear often first makes a slight grinding or humming sound. As wear increases, humming, vibrations, and reduced performance become more apparent. Therefore, do not wait too long to prevent further damage to the motor.
