R-Vent ventilation unit making noise

Is your R-Vent ventilation unit making more noise than usual? A humming, grinding, rattling or screeching sound often indicates wear of the motor, bearings or other rotating parts. In many cases, overhaul is a sustainable solution.

What do you notice?

  • Vibrations through walls, ceiling or ventilation ducts.

Possible causes

  • Worn bearings.
  • Contamination of motor or fan.
  • Imbalance of the fan wheel.
  • Wear of motor or mounting rubbers.

What can you check yourself?

Listen carefully to the type of sound and check if the sound changes when you change the ventilation setting. Always switch off the power to the ventilation unit before opening it.

When is overhaul possible?
