R-Vent ventilation unit no longer spinning

Is your R-Vent ventilation unit or fan motor no longer spinning at all? The cause could be the motor, bearings, capacitor, circuit board or power supply. In many cases, repair or overhaul is still possible.

What do you notice?

  • The ventilation unit no longer responds.
  • There is no or hardly any air displacement.
  • The motor tries to start but doesn't get going.
  • The ventilation unit remains completely silent or only hums.

Possible causes

  • Defective or seized motor.
  • Worn bearings or stiff moving parts.
  • Problems with capacitor, circuit board, or power supply.
  • Wear or contamination of the fan motor.

What can you check yourself?

First, check if the ventilation unit is receiving power and if the controls are working correctly. Listen if the motor remains completely silent or tries to start up. Always disconnect power to the ventilation unit before opening or inspecting it.

Can the motor still be repaired?
