Duco ventilation unit not extracting properly
Is your Duco ventilation unit or HRV unit not extracting properly? Does moisture linger in the bathroom, do cooking odors disappear more slowly, or do you notice little air movement? The cause could be contamination, wear and tear, a motor problem, or a malfunction in the control system.
- Little air movement
- Moisture lingers
- Motor overhaul possible
What do you notice?
- Little extraction in the bathroom, kitchen, or toilet.
- Moisture remains longer after showering.
- Cooking odors disappear less quickly.
- The ventilation unit is running, but moving little air.
Possible causes
- Contaminated valves or ventilation ducts.
- Worn motor or bearings.
- Problems with the control system or operation.
- Contaminated fan or impeller.
What can you check yourself?
Check if the vents are clean and if the ventilation unit responds when you select a different ventilation setting. For an HRV unit, also check the filters. If the extraction remains insufficient, the cause may lie in the ventilation motor or fan.
