Fläkt ventilation unit hums
Is your Fläkt ventilation unit or HRV unit humming? A humming sound often occurs due to worn bearings, a stiff motor, dirt accumulation, or resonance of the ventilation unit or ductwork.

What do you notice?

Possible causes

- Imbalance of fan or motor.
- Contamination of fan impeller or motor.
- Resonance of the ventilation unit or ductwork.
When is overhaul possible?
If the humming is caused by wear and tear on the motor or bearings, an overhaul is often an excellent solution.
