Orcon ventilation unit doesn't extract air properly
Is your Orcon ventilation unit or HRU (Heat Recovery Unit) extracting air less effectively? Does moisture linger, do smells disappear less quickly, or do you notice little air circulation? The cause could be contamination, wear and tear, a motor problem, or a fault in the control system.

What do you notice?
- There is little extraction in the bathroom, kitchen, or toilet.
- Moisture remains longer after showering.
- Odors disappear less quickly from the home.
- The motor may be running, but seems to have little power.
Possible causes
- Contamination in valves, filters, ducts, or the ventilation unit.
- Wear and tear on the motor, bearings, or rotating parts.
- Problem with the selector switch, control system, or activation.
- Reduced operation due to the age of the motor.
What can you check yourself?
First, check if valves and filters are clean and if the ventilation unit responds to different settings. Also, pay attention to noise or vibrations. A motor that runs but moves little air may be contaminated or show signs of wear. Always de-energize the unit before opening it.
